Government Emergency Telecommunications Service (GETS)
GETS prioritizes calls to landlines for approved essential services when landline networks are degraded or congested. GETS calls can be made from a landline phone or a mobile phone to a landline, and there is no charge to use the service.
Making regular test calls is encouraged. The official test call number is 1-800-818-GETS (4387), but you can make test calls to anyone.
GETS cards are being distributed to UCSF Health lobby reception desk with phones that are manned by security. The calling cards can be used to grant priority calling to landlines during large-scale emergencies and events (when phone lines are inundated).
- If your reception desk does not have a GETS card and is a critical department or the lobby of a critical location, please contact: UCSF Enterprise Emergency Management at [email protected].
